Accessible Funding Options for Los Angeles Families

We offer several flexible ways for Los Angeles families to access our 1-on-1 life skills learning programs, including state-funded options and private payment.

Self-Determination Program (SDP)

The Self-Determination Program (SDP) is an alternative to traditional Regional Center services that allows individuals and families greater choice and control in selecting supports. Participants receive an individualized budget and may choose providers that best support their person-centered goals.

ElevateAbility’s 1-on-1 life skills mentoring aligns closely with SDP principles and may be funded through a participant’s Self-Determination budget when connected to IPP goals such as independent living skills, community integration, self-advocacy, and goal setting. Many Los Angeles–area families include ElevateAbility as part of their customized SDP plan.

School District & IEP Funding

In the Los Angeles area, some school districts fund ElevateAbility services for students with IEPs who need community-based instruction, transition skill development, or additional life skills support. This may apply to teens and young adults (typically ages 14–22) receiving transition services who benefit from support beyond what the school district can directly provide.

Private Pay

Families in Los Angeles may also choose to enroll through private pay. This is often used when services are desired before SDP approval, when IEP funding is not yet in place, or when additional sessions are wanted beyond what a plan covers. We offer flexible scheduling and session lengths to meet each family’s unique needs.
