Flexible Funding Options for San Diego Families

We provide San Diego families with multiple options to access our 1-on-1 life skills programs, including support through state funding and private payment plans.

Self-Determination Program (SDP)

The Self-Determination Program (SDP) is an alternative to traditional Regional Center services, giving individuals and families more choice and control over supports. Participants receive an individualized budget and can select providers that best support their goals.

Our 1-on-1 life tutors and coaches align with SDP principles and may be funded through a participant’s Self-Determination budget when tied to IPP goals such as independent living skills, community integration, self-advocacy, and personal growth. Many San Diego families include our services as part of their customized SDP plan.

School District & IEP Funding

Some San Diego school districts provide funding for life tutors when students with IEPs need community-based instruction, transition skill development, or additional life skills support. This typically applies to teens and young adults (ages 14–22) receiving transition services who require support beyond what the district offers.

Private Pay

Families in San Diego may also enroll through private pay. This is ideal for services before SDP approval, when IEP funding is not yet available, or to add extra weekly support. We offer flexible scheduling and session lengths to meet each family’s needs.
